WEEKLY REFLECTION 1 (18 NOV. -22 NOV.)

As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, we the second year trainees from Fathima Memorial Training College, Pallimukku were sent to different schools to be engaged in the second phase internship programme. Fourteen trainees from different optional subjects were allotted to practice in Govt. H.S.S. Anchalummood. From English optional we were four in number.

The second  phase of school internship programme commenced on 18 November 2019. On the first day, we met the Headmistress and handed over the register and details. we met our concerned teachers and they gave necessary instructions regarding the classes and  a separate room was allotted to us.

I was assigned to take classes in standard VIII - H. After having good interactions and friendly talks I started the lesson The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare in the Unit V - Share and Care. Everyday I took one or two paragraphs of the lesson. On the third day (20 Nov), there were no regular classes due to strike. I completed the first 4 paragraphs of the lesson on the first week. I made the class more interesting by displaying charts and flash cards with attractive images related to the lesson and giving activity cards to the students. The use of I.C.T. with power point presentations and video clips turned the class into a more effective one.

I believe I had made the students to understand the passages well. The use of teaching aids helped me a lot to convey the meaning to the students.
