WEEKLY REFLECTION 9 (JAN.20 -JAN.22)

During the last three days of teaching practice, I was relieved from taking classes as I had completed all the portions. I was engaged in some practical works and collected the necessary data for the project work. I corrected the answer sheets of the achievement test and marked the scores in the scoring sheet.

The teaching practice at Govt.H.S.S. Anchalummood was really a good experience for me. Through this teaching practice session I acquired a lot of knowledge in teaching field. I learnt to manage the classrooms and organize programmes well. The students co-operated very well and the teachers and other staffs were very supportive through out the period of the teaching practice.

WEEKLY REFLECTION 8 (JAN.13 - JAN.17)

During this week, I took a new poem 'Solitude' written by Ella Wheeler Wilcox. I took about three days to complete the poem. I used apt teaching aids like power point slides with pictures, flash cards etc. I used pictures to convey the meaning of some unfamiliar words in the poem. I gave short appreciations of each stanza of the poem to the students. I also took a class on the topic 'Adverbs' using Advance Organizer Model. I used some charts for that class. On Jan.13 I conducted a conscientization programme on the topic 'Plastics; Do's and Don'ts' for the students of class VIII A. I also conducted an achievement test on Jan.16 for the students in VIII H to know what they understood.

This week I was able to take the class well. I believe that the students are following my class pretty good. The usage of good teaching aids and models made the class more lively.

INNOVATIVE LESSON PLAN

WEEKLY REFLECTION 7 (JAN.6 - JAN.10)

During this week, I took a new poem 'My Grandmother's House' written by Kamala Surayya. I used I.C.T. for taking the class in an interesting way. The poem was taken completely using two days. After that I took an innovative lesson plan on the same poem. The way of teaching was entirely changed when taking the innovative lesson plan. I took an activity lesson plan on 'Present Progressive Test'. I used some charts for the class. I also took a class using the Direct Instruction Model on the topic 'Past Continuous Tense'. I got an opportunity to observe the classes of some of the trainees.

I could take classes with good confidence level. The usage of apt teaching aids made the classes more effective and interesting.
